We found a fun event to go to this Saturday where the boys got candy and since Jay's costume was pretty awesome we entered him in a costume contest. He didn't win a prize, but he did great and got some of the loudest cheers from the crowd. It was also fun seeing everyone else's reaction when he would walk by.
This is at home before we left.
On the way to the event, this was in someone's side yard right next to the sidewalk. Jay wanted to throw leaves at me:)
Here is him walking on stage at the costume contest:
Can you find him?
Waiting in line at the Chick-Fil-A booth (we got some coupons for free stuff)
Who can resist a picture with a cow?
Andy never had all of his costume on at any point today. It was too hot to put the main part on in the stroller, so he ended up with the ears and some things on his feet for most of the trick or treating. I'm sure there will be cuter pictures later. We have an event on Tuesday and Thursday is "wear your costume" at pre-school, trick or treat at John's work, and around the block at night.

Mid-October Weather and Top of Cabinet Redo
Jay and I got haircuts today!
The tree in our backyard is beautiful! Jay had a lot of fun out there today. We even waited for the wind to blow the leaves and tried to catch them! Just a few short days ago (Friday) there was snow on the ground! Andy was super excited to play in the snow, but ended up looking annoyed.
Another thing the boys have been doing is drumming in the basement...
We inherited an awesome wall hanging when John's grandfather passed away. I have no idea the origin...but it is dutch ladies dancing with wooden shoes. When I showed it to my friend Erica, she suggested we hang it because it matched the green wall in our house. Then we came up with the idea of a "dutch" themed kitchen. I still have no idea what I am going to do with it, after cleaning and dusting the top of the cabinets (which probably hadn't been done in 2 years), I carved a temporary spot for it. What else can I find to add to the theme?

October 2013
I can't believe Andy is 17 months, and Jay is a blossoming 3 year old.
School and life have been super busy, but we have had a few seconds for fun here and there.
Also, these last few weeks have been full of sickness, with crazy colds, Croupe for the little guy, diarreah, and everything in between. It is very nice when we are all healthy.
In between school meetings, conferences, and John's work things the boys have been at babysitters a lot too.
One day in between school and a tech meeting, I had the boys for about an hour between babysitters and I took them to the closest pumpkin patch I could find because it was a nice day.
We had time to get 2 pumpkins, play on a few things and eat a snack...then we left. I still got some cute pictures though.
Also, there is this cute picture of the boys shaving!

Kid videos Jay 3 1/4, Andy 16 months
Andy Reading:
Jay found an old toy that must have been John's. He walked around asking everyone if they wanted "chips" for 2 days and then pulling the canister open. Andy was most impressed even after the hundredth time. Also, I got Jay the cutest shirt on clearance online....with a cape!
They look so cute drawing at the table, but Andy's face reveals his true nature:
What is it about straws that my boys love? Perhaps that they can double as drumsticks?
Doesn't every little boy need to shave with their dad sometime?
Andy+Cornbread muffin+ yogurt= BATH
Jay didn't nap the other day, and fell asleep in the chair at 6:40. Andy took advantage of the situation, by stealing his Monkey and pinching him:)
