The Start of the School Year 2020

Ellie was excited to be going to Pre-school this year. After the first day...she seemed to have a good day, and was really happy. I asked her about friends, and she said she made some friends, especially the one that she was next to at nap time, but she didn't know her name. (She hasn't napped for about a year, but we are waking her up early for school now, so it might happen occasionally). She said her class had a good day and "got to go outside 2, or 3 or 4 or 5 times" :). I said "probably 2 or 3". I asked if she learned anything and she said "yup, that Jesus made the WHOLE world. ALL of it". Since then, she has mentioned that she likes home days a lot too...but I think she is learning a lot!
Andy started 3rd grade. He is excited to have a male teacher, and he had a great first week. He is still pretty naughty on the weekend, but during the week he has football and it keeps him busy and tired. We are all wearing masks this year.
Jay is in 5th grade! He is excitd to be at the top, to get a locker...and I think he is secretly excited to still be at school with Andy and I:) He wants to be super responsible and hard working, but he is just not quite organized enough to remember everything. He will get it eventually:) He is also tired after football and school all week.
My classroom theme is GLOW. This week we were learing to GLOW...to be a light in someone's sadness, to find the happy in the darkness and to share our awesome qualities with others. My Innovation Lab theme is helping us all find the bright points in the world and focus on them insead of the darkness we feel with Covid ect. It's so fun to see their excitement and point out what glows.
