Ellie's 7th Birthday Party- ICE CREAM

Ellie has always loved ice cream with sprinkles, so when we decided an Elephant and Piggy (Books) party wasn't quite going to work, Ice Cream topped the list next.
First the Decor:
I found some chiffon long cloth at a thrift store and used some of the golden decorations from Jack and Cherry's Anniversary party. I found old party hats and other cone decorations at thrift stores and made them into Ice cream Cones. With brown paper I made the cones for outside.
The Food: Pretty chill as it was a 1pm party, but still meat and cheese tray, veggies, lots of fruit, goodies and of course cake and ice cream. Man did I struffle with the cake. Between the funfeti layers falling apart while trying to frost them, to the drips just not dripping correctly...It was a mess. Luckily in a few picture it looks just fine:)
Activities: Ellie wanted to keep it pretty low key- where you could do what you wanted to...so we had the Ice Cream Name, The Stuffy Pit of fun (too cold for water), The sand toys, and the Paint your own Flower pot (and of course the trampoline).
Then there was the Ice Cream Topping Bar:
And the goodie bags:
Happy Birthday Girl, we love you:)

Jay and Andy Room Redo

For Jay's 12th birthday, we said we would redo his room and take him on an experience. The room redo turned into a week-long ordeal with removing things, spackling, priming, painting 2 coats, and getting everything back to working order. Jay wanted a lighter blue and the old Broncos logos theme. Andy wanted a Vikings theme for his closet part of the room. The night stand for Jay was $20 at a garage sale and set the tone for the grayish wood theme. The headboard was specifically chosen because it is tall, and it holds Jay's books. We were deciding between a bookshelf or desk, and looking for a combination one...but we ended up finding a decent desk while dumpster diving...so that is what we have right now.
