I know Lori might beat me to this...

but I wanted to show John what a nice time I have been having. It was especially nice when Caleb, my cute nephew, decided to share his first taste of baby food with me. I think it was peaches:) Thanks, Lori for capturing this gut-wrenching moment.
I can't wait to show you other cute pictures of us.
I am trying to get the pictures on here...but I am on the Parent's computer=slow. They will be posted soon.

funny things

It started out with a giggle...then it formed into a full blown laugh. These things crack me up. For you they might just be "cute"

scrapbooking tips...

I went to a scrapbooking party the other day, and learned some brilliant tips from the presenter that were easy and cheap...things I had never thought about before. I have already used a few of them...like using a floss threader to get ribbon through small holes. Man, I bet my parents wish they would have know that when they helped me put together my wedding programs:)

So today I offer what I know as original ideas. I'm sure they are in some scrapbooking magazine somewhere that I haven't read..but I find them helpful in scrapbooking cost efficiently.

Tip 1:
Use photo editing software to put your titles on the picture.

Tip 2:
Put 2-3 pictures into an 8x10 printing layout for more size options in printing the pictures. I like to do this then upload them to snapfish. If you order two or more 8x10's and check the option to pick them up at walgreens...you can get them super cheap.

Tip 3:
Use a small paint roller and a stamp pad for giving your page a hint of metallic shine (or for texturizing or darkening up a page).

Tip 4:
Shop at garage sales and estate auctions for cheap, wonderfully unique ribbon. (it usually comes in a big box with lots of options.) You can also find great buttons.

Tip 5:
Take flowers from cheesy bouquets, cut off the tops, then take out the plastic pieces for your own inexpensive embellishments.

Tip 6:
This one is just something I have been learning in the past month.
Keep some of your pages simple with clean lines for dramatic effect.

I know not a lot of my blog readers scrapbook, but if you have family that might find these interesting, you can let them know of the blog.

My birthday present...

from John was this awesome firepit. He even cut down a tree to get me some wood. (Well they did cut down a tree that day) It works perfectly.

Spring Blooms into Summer

My roses start blooming. John planted them in the landscaping in our backyard last year...as a surprise for my birthday.

Man it is windy here today. The news said 70-80 MPH gusts, but I don't think it was quite that high.
Our Grill even blew over!

Paint, Paint, Paint

we can't decide if we want to paint that little white part in the middle (by the fridge) red, or paint the other spot below the cubbords white again. Whadda think?
